Creepy Crawly Museum Family Fun Day
Families will become acquainted with tiny creatures at the San
Bernardino County Museum on Saturday, July 10 from 11 a.m. to 4
p.m. during “Creepy Crawly Critters,” a family fun day.
The activities are suitable for families with children age 5 and
older.
Participants can bring their own magnifying glass or borrow one
of the museum’s to meet some interesting and beautiful life
forms-some are insects, some are not. Find out the differences
between insects, arachnids (including spiders and scorpions),
and diplopods (millipedes). What do they eat? Are they poisonous?
Do they bite? Would they make good pets, and how would you take
care of them?
Activities include insect games with volunteers from the education
division’s Museum Youth Club and a selection of creepy critter
crafts. A $1 materials fee will be charged for each craft activity.
The San Bernardino County Museum is at the California Street
exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. Admission is $6 (adult),
$5 (senior or student) and $4 (child aged 5 to 12). Children under
5 and Museum Association members are admitted free. Parking is
free, and the facility is handicapped-accessible. The museum’s
Garden Café will be open for lunch and snacks between 11
a.m. and 2 p.m. For more information, visit www.sbcountymuseum.org
