The Education Division of the San Bernardino County Museum is holding a New Education Volunteer Open House on Thursday, September 8, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Anyone with an interest in talking, listening, or learning is welcome to attend and find out about the opportunities for being an education volunteer.

Benefits include working with people, continuing education, field trips, discounts in the Museum Store, and caring for animals in the Exploration Station. Volunteers interact with museum visitors, both young and old, and with museum curators who help provide specialized training.

Education volunteers are needed in several areas.

• Exhibit interpreters to chat with visitors or run an activity. Gallery exhibit interpreters are needed every day, Tuesdays through Sundays, any time between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
• Greeters to welcome Museum guests and to help them get the most out of their visit. Greeters are needed most days between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and for special events.
• Mature Exploration Station workers. The live animal Exploration Station needs mature volunteers, mainly on Wednesday or Friday mornings, to help care for the animals and talk with visitors.

No reservations are required for the Open House.
